Wrapped up this .410 to .44mag conversion today. The owner is using it for close range Black Bear hunting in the East and Southeastern US. He wanted it SHORT, light, and built as a no frills piece. The rifle boasts 18 1/8” barrels, weighs 6lbs 2oz, and uses a peep rear sight with a front sight that has a larger bead that flips up in front of the smaller bead for whenever desired. The barrels were also Cerakoted black by 903 Tactical, a first for me to do on a double rifle!

My understanding is that the barrels are aligned in such a manner that they will both hit where you are aiming at a certain range with a certain grain bullet/load and you don't really deviate from that unless you want to make things complicated. I have no experience with double rifles. I have never even handled one, but I have always wanted one just because....I still want one lol.

That is a cool little rifle. I bet its hard to beat for shooting critters out to 75-100yds if you have the eyes for it.

^^^ Correct. I've supplied several batches of ammo for some double rifles to "dial" in the ammo so both barrels have same POI. It's a trick of bullet weight and speed.
