This is their backyard, they run up and down the run. The run is 4" x 4" panel with chicken wire attached & tin 22" in the ground. Did you ever finish your hydroponics system?

Did you ever finish your hydroponics system? No, other projects got in the way. Building a shed this summer, then the greenhouse will be my next priority.

I understand that completely. Please start a thread when you're building the greenhouse, I'd like to follow along. Thanks

Feels like it never will be. There is some kind of government grant my neighbor was telling me about, I am looking into that now. You have to allow school kids and such to come by every now and then to see it, but the grant pays for it.

How are you losing your chickens? Only evidence of one being destroyed in the coop. The others got carried off I assume. I guess I'm dealing with a fox or bobcat.

Could be a hawk I've lost 4 in the past 3 years. I found the torn up bodies.

One was destroyed in the coop. Pretty sure its a 4 legged killer Traps set daily. Chickens are locked up every night. We'll see....

Lost two more last week. Big dog got a possum on Thursday. Doubt the possum was involved in the killing of multiple hens but its possible I guess. Not deploying the traps nightly. Maybe twice a week. Tuna is the bait. Maybe I should change that. Reducing the chicken yard footprint. Its too much anyway since they have a 1/2 acre to roam daily and its never used. Red box = chicken coop White border = current yard Yellow will be the new area Reworked the coop cage. The door got moved from the north side to the west side. Easier to access. Its reinforced wire and really damn strong. Still have more work to do.

Are you closing the hatch doors to the coup? I have a fence in area attached to the coup with wire over the top attached fence run. Run loose after 3pm. The coup gets lock down at 8 or 830 whenever they go in.
