I am trying to set up my blind at my new place and need suggestions. I built a 6x6x6 blind out of 2x4s and 1/2" plywood that I want to put on 10' posts. At the moment its sitting on the ground but I'd like to set it up in the air. What are some suggestions on lifting it? I can lift it about to my chest but I doubt I can support it to push it all the way up.

What are some suggestions on lifting it?

4 wheelers or trucks to hoist

I was thinking of that, using the truck and a come-along. Just wasn't sure if it that was the best way.

If you have a good path, you don't need a come along, just some good chains. Use one truck to pull it up, slowly. You need another truck to be behind it also attached with a chain, that will be your stopper. Make sure you have a good spotter to tell the front truck when to stop and let the back truck know when to slow it down.

No forklift or front end loader...I can see about renting one but thought the truck thing would be the easiest thing.

Truck idea should work. We have done several that are bigger and taller than yours that way.

Truck and a gin pole, you can make the pole out of 10' 2"x12"s. It will hoist blind up without a problem.

Agreed on the gin pole. Less likely to damage the blind. We always used 4x4's, but we're cheap that way.

Bore a hole in one end of the gin poles, run rope through them, tie a knot so the rope won't slip through freely, tie one end to truck and the other to blind. Set the ground end of gin poles into small holes dug in ground so they don't slip. Pull her on up. The gin poles will provide lift while pulling. Works like a champ.

I'd definitely have a back up rope on the other side too, just to make sure the whole mess doesn't flop on over and crash into the truck or ground.

Get you a piece of pipe about the height of the deer stand. Dig a little hole for the footing to keep the pipe from sliding. Attach a chain from top of the deer stand to the top of the pipe. Then another chain from top of the pipe to your pickup truck.

It will pull it right up.

Exactly how we did it, except we tied the pivoting legs of the blind to the trailer so it would not slip while raising it.

i put my blind on a trailer then add legs tie rope to one side, use 4 wheeler or jeep or man power to pull the rope while yall lift the front side. this usually works, why dont you have anyone help you, the more the better imo

Get a couple of sky hooks. One red and one blue. While you are picking those up go ahead and get you a left-handed smoke shifter, they come in handy!!

you could rent two duct jacks. put one in the front and one in the back and crank it up. i helped one butt head on the forum(you know who you are) do a blind with one jack.

I would also be sure & dbl the legs & cross beams on the ground side that is taking all the weight when you pull it up. If you can next time build your blind in 4 walls a floor & a top. I did one like that & it worked pretty well because I knew I would have littel to no help in doing what your about to do. Good Luck
