No, my dad was transferred to Glasgow AFB, MT a few months before Chennault was closed where we stayed until they closed that base and my dad retired after 23 years of active duty.

1985, my international ski bum days. First pic my Austria ski pass connected 7 towns, I could ski to all towns on that pass, at the time the largest ski area in Austria.


This is Australia, our Summer, Perisher Valley Ski Resort, I was ski lifty in the day, bartender at night.

My mom found the target from the first year I hunted with a rifle, along with the first deer I ever shot that same year. My grandmother always took a Polaroid picture of all the deer I had shot up until she passed.

Not as old but I got big fish one. Probably 12 years ago. Im gonna have to visit mom and dad now and did though the old photo album. One year for fathers day my mom put together a photo album of all the fishing and hunting pictures she had from dad's childhood and all of the ones with my brother and I. I have only seen my old man shed a tear one time and it was when he opened that book. We have spent hours looking at all the pictures. My son loves to look too.

A lot. I think the one in the picture was around a 67 model. Before that one he had an orange/black van that had the full sunroof. After the white one above he had a 1974 he bought new in 75 and keep for 14 years. He sold it and got a newer, water-cooled one (81 model) but never like it like the old Westfalia one he had (the 74). It looked just like this one:

Me at my grandfather's CB base station about 1980 in Kentucky. I so wanted to be a truck driver like my dad and part of the "CB culture" that was raging at the time. Never could come up with a good handle at the time though. My grandparents' handles were "Lil' Abner" and "Daisy Mae". My dad had several when he was driving trucks: "Nosy Bones", "Coffee Pot", "Empty Pockets", and "Corn Hustler". When the "Skip" was running, I remember my dad in Houston talking to Lil' Abner in Kentucky...about 1,175 miles distant.

A gal splilled a Schlitz on the hood of my ‘77 Celica. It ate the paint.

When we were in drought years ago, I could walk along the shoreline of Whitney and still find Shlitz cans that were opened with the church keys. Those were some heavy tin cans. McCown and Cedron mainly.

This is Ray Hubbard, probably 1980 or 81. Back then jumping the wake was unheard of. I would jump it and cross it up.

Circa 1988. I caught this needlefish and it was the greatest thing ever. I still remember I wouldn't let my dad throw it back so we set it in the grass and ants got on it and I cried.

1990, I was 12 driving the 73 Scout II at our lease in Junction. My first car ended up being a 77 Scout II, which I still own.
