Going on a cruise, and bought the unlimited alcohol package. Problem is I'm not a drinker. Help me expand my drink resume.

I'm pretty basic. I've had the following, Jack and coke, Corona, bud light lime, margarita, and my favorite even though everyone makes fun of me.....pina colada. Why do they always hand the pina colada to my wife.....?

What should I try?

See if they know how to make a iceberg: a tall beer with a dollop of a frozen Rita on top.

I'm a light beer kinda girl, but on a recent flight with my hubby, I had a sip of his Bloody Mary. Have to admit. Tasted darn good.

I find whatever the “drink of the day is” and add a few shots of whatever the liquor is they’re using to them.

Get your money's worth - stick with whiskey (Irish, Scotch, or Bourbon). Neat.

Deep Eddy's Lemon Vodka, club soda, wedge of lime squeezed in. It's like a carbonated lemonade. I know...sounds like sprite & vodka, right? But I think it's different and way better.

Hard to go wrong with Pina Colada and Dirty Monkey as well.

Bourbon and a splash of ginger ale with lime.

I would take a little slow after you get up in the morning, Then at 11 am start with 3 Top shelf Texas Teas. A shot or two of Herradura. Then right after lunch you will be game for anything your compadres are wanting to partake in. Then when supper comes around and the sun starts to fade I would turn it up a notch and get your money worth with finishing out the evening with Wellers 107. Repeat the next day

Is it unlimited in quantity, or quality (i.e really high end stuff)?

For a screwdriver go wit a TitoJ, Tito's and OJ, or a MonoJ, Monopolova and OJ.

If it's high end stuff go quality not quantity... Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac or any of the A.E. Dor numbered series Cognacs or maybe a Martell Cordon Bleu
Single Malt Scotches: Macallan 25 yr old, Glenfiddich 20 or 25 year old, Johnnie Walker Blue isn't a Single Malt but it's good.

Red wines; 18-20 years old
Bordeaux: Chateaux Petrus,
Cabernet: Opus One
Burgundy: Domain La Romaine Conti

For a dessert wine Chateaux d'Yquem, nothing less than a 20 year old vintage [and yes, it's supposed to be a light brown].

Haven't tried a "vodka sunrise" going to have to give that a shot.

my wife's old boss decided to try to find a drink she would like (she's not a drinker other than a little white wine). He opened up a tab and started ordering everything the bartenders could think up. She would take one sip and turn her nose up at it and pass the drink to me, her old boss or his lady friend. We all started getting a bit tipsy after she had passed off 30-40 drinks ... There was only a couple that she thought were okay. strawberry margarita, peach fuzz and a hurricane. I am much simpler and stick to mainly beer with an occasional margarita on the rocks.

Recommend a Jura Scotch (think peat-smoked barley).

Start your mornings off with Bloody Marys with gray goose . Then later go to foo-foo drinks : Miami Vice ( half strawberry daiquiri half pina colada ) , Mango Swirsl , Banana Daiquiris . Then stay with gray goose mixed drinks or rum drinks. Late night go to the whiskeys. Next day,,,,,,,repeat............

Last cruise I drank wine with meals and Tullamore Dew for recreational drinking.

Obviously, a pro.

Depending on cruise line some have some really good stuff. My best advice, find a certain bar and give a small tip every time. Amazing how much better the drinks are once they know you.

List goes on. I tried probably everything on the menu. Lots have different names on the boat. I’m not normally a rum person but I drank a ton of it the week we went.

To bad you can't just buy unlimited for one or two of the days for a fraction of the price. One night of unlimited will ruin me for the whole next day.

Start off with a few beers, then a large pour of tequila neat, and finish that off with a bottle of merlot. That’s my go to drink list on a typical night. Although sometimes I substitute a couple glasses of whiskey in place of the tequila.

Y’all are going to ruin him on trying new drinks if you think Scotch is an acceptable drink for a relative newby. That’s a very acquired taste

I agree. I’m not a newbie and I still haven’t acquired a taste for scotch and I’ve tried sever times with several nice scotches.

Straight Scotch is a helluva lot safer than the beer, tequila, merlot combo you suggest.

Pick one thing and stick with it. Time to man up.

My Fiance drinks Moscow mules. In the summer, I'll drink one every now and then. Very refreshing.

Yes sir, not a huge fan of the taste of tequila, and with vodka you can't taste the alcohol.

Another good drink is a Cape cod, but cut with ginger beer.

Irish car bombs every 15 minutes until someone passes out, then every 20 minutes.

You can get the unlimited drink package usually the last couple of days at a discount.

It’s not hard to get your money’s worth. Any type of soft drink, bottled water, couple of beers. I think it was 45-55 a day per adult which sounds bad but considering most mixed drinks were $8 and up. Also gave me a chance to try some stuff I normally wouldn’t have and not feel bad if I didn’t like it.

They banned me from it just like they took All You Can Eat away from me at Waffle House dang it.

I don’t know about tasting just like NyQuil, I’ve been known to take some hard pulls of NyQuil just to get to sleep.

And Old Fashioned is my favorite mixed drink. Since I can’t make one that I approve of, I have found a few bottles Ild Fashioneds that are pretty damn good, my favorite being Fromm Witherspoon.

It depends, there is no set price on royal Caribbean. If one adult gets the drink package all adults in that state room has to get it. We paid $400 per person. To break even you need to drink $57 dollars worth per day. Drink's are usually $11-$13 a piece. So I need to drink 5 a day. Wish me luck!

Have a couple of Bloody Marys or Screwdrivers for breakfast then switch to a couple dozen beers.

I've always drank what I want, when I want, without problem. I think that's mind over matter. It's either that or I'm a rock star, a pro.

I started my pre dinner drink with 3 Pacifico beers. Old Fashioned for dinner. 4 fingers of 4 Roses bourbon with desert. Ending the night with some Gnarly Head Zinfandel wine.

Yep, we hung out here in Florida for a couple of days before the cruise. Florida is a beautiful place, and there are fish everywhere..... a real fisherman's paradise. Miami metropolitan area is huge, and boy does it seem like there's a lot of big money here.
