Small end just fits over a 2" ball. Noose/snare end cinches just above the hock.

I have a small trailer similar to the first picture. Very useful on the ranch for sure.

Problem solved. Bolted to frame, through deck. Been using this winch a long time, it breaks down into two pieces and rides strapped down. It rotates 360°. [Linked Image]

why cant you rig a board or something to keep from rubbing seat and gas tank and just use the existing winch on the atv??

Because there is not an existing winch. Need the trailer to haul other loads from time to time anyway.
