The fan is running correctly. I was thinking the same thing.

So much for convincing the Mrs. that the money I saved fixing it myself should be allocated to the gun fund.

Sounds like you have lost all or some of the refrigerant charge. You a 2008 model system. I am not familar with that particular control board. If uses the same logic as the next generation's board, the board controls the compressor and the condenser fan. In fact some later models have no contactor.

The condenser motor is not a PSC motor. It is an ECM. There is no fan capacitor.
The original compressor capacitor was an 80mfd. The last tech piggybacked a 25 on a 45 to create the equivalent. Nothing wrong with that practice.

Someone is gonna need to take some measurements. Assuming board is getting correct signals from pressure switches, could be board, compressor or lost charge.

Let us know .

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I wonder why the compressor is humming. If it’s shut down it would not hum.

Probably not the compressor hum he hears. Contactor coil, ECM or even the board could produce 60 cycle hum. The board probably has the compressor locked out. I think the ASX was first generation 2 stage compressor system. [Linked Image]

Notice..
L1 and L2 terminals, Blue 60 amp Common relay, Red amperage loop for run and Back EMF input from Start winding marked Herm S

This is newest style. I think first gen has same logic, just different configuration.

Yep, it is 2 stage. Called my AC guy this morning and he just looked at it, compressor has a leak. So much for buying another gun. I thought those capacitors were piggy backed, thanks for explaining why there isn't a fan capacitor, I thought maybe I messed something up.

Sorry, I could have used my fail safe method when this thread started. I just make a list of everything possibly wrong, then decide which one costs the most. And bingo.
