Until now I didn’t know a mini-14 was offered in 222. Last night I found a P938 in 22LR. What are some others that you know of?

The p938 comes in a designated 22LR or 9mm, but if you have the 9mm you used to be able to get the 22LR conversion. For some reason sig quit making it and idk why, been looking for one for 2 years.

I always thought bolt actions chambered in .30-30 were weird.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have a removable box mag-fed bolt action 30-30. It belonged to my Mom’s Dad (my Grandfather) and I Killed my first couple of deer with that rifle. It’s a good rifle for what it is.

Mini 14 was offered in 222 Remington because some countrys do not allow civilian ownership of military cartridge firearms.

The Remington 788 was chanbered in 30-30. Odd to have such an accurate gun chambered in a not so accurate caliber.

I don't think the thutty thutty is not accurate. It's just that leverguns with tube mags and barrel bands, they are just not made to be moa rifles.

I have one of the 788s in 30-30 and 44Mag, neither of which is in accurate

I agree but in a contender pistol it is a very good deer round. Same could be said about the other guns it is chambered in. Federal did not follow Ken Waters recommendation of 140gr bullets and went with 120s. Ig is one you need to reload for though

Barrel bands suck.

I used to hunt on a ranch out west and they kept a couple of rifles on-site for turkey hunt spares. I believe they were Remington Model 592s chambered in a rimfire 5mm. If I recall, that round was discontinued in the early 1980s and the ranch mgr had stocked up with several thousand rounds. I also heard they had found a new source in the early 2000s and restocked.

The 5mm is/was a great round for varmint and hits harder than either the .22 Mag or .17 rimfire.

I have one of those and really like it Aguilla made a run of the ammo a few years ago and I got a couple bricks of ammo for it them. It doe hit harder than a 17 HMR or 22 Mag

When weird calibers are discussed, I always think about the .224 BOZ:
