Bill presented to allow those with vehicle with cost over 60000 to not have front lp

I haven't ran a front license plate in probably close to 10 years on any vehicle. Luckily haven't gotten a ticket yet, although I have gotten pulled over a couple times but only received a warning.

Why would there be a dollar amount attacked to this?

higher end mustangs, camaros, challengers with scat pack and such and then vettes to exotics

Another state is doing away with front plates. Ohio maybe.

Where does the value come from?
If you buy a $45k truck and then spend $15k on customizations is it over $60K?
If you buy a vette for $60k and it qualifies does it then not qualify when its a year or two old and only worth $40K?
If you finance a $40K vehicle at 4% interest for 6 years so the total you pay including the interest makes it over $60K does it qualify?
Will police now be required to carry a copy of the current years Kelly Blue Book so they can look up the value of cars without front plates that they see?
Will rich people buying a car that's $58K, offer the dealer $2K more to qualify?
Will proof of purchase price now need to be carried?

Whole lot of pickup trucks out there that cost more the 60K. If you don't need a front and a back plate does the cost to renew go down?

Never made sense to me that those types of cars couldn’t drill two holes for a front LP (and I think the front LP requirement is a dumb law and plenty of states don’t have it as a rule at all). I had a friend get pulled over because his car didn’t have a front plate (because it was one of the cars you listed) and he got a DUI. Stupidest reason I ever heard for getting pulled over and getting a DUI (and I mean he was stupid, not the police. I’m glad they pulled his [censored] over).

Yes, it is just bait for the police to pull over. Alot of DUIs are let off because reason of pulling over was not justified.

I bought an HHR SS off the show room floor at 20yo. I told them if they drilled the bumper deal was off. I never ran a front plate and did very well when I traded up to the truck.

Alabama doesn't require front plates. So in a sea of Roll Tide, my Texas Tech plate stands out.

Drive a $60,000 truck and worried about the price of the tags?

Kill the front plate and the annual inspection and be done with it. And cancel the dang sales tax on used vehicles. How many times can you tax one item?

My wife ordered vanity plates for her Lexus RCF she was told she had to have both mounted. We bought the car out of New Mexico so the car doesn't have a license plate mount on the front. Apparantly Texas is the only state in the area that requires both plates. She's been running with only the rear plate. I hope they pass this bill. But honestly it should be for all vehicles.
