Same here. I've got a venison stew recipe that uses red wine, other than that its for drinkin while cookin......

Threw in some Bugs Bunny favorites and letting it slow cook for about another 4-6 hours, right now it appears to have made a nice stew type gravy. Will go to the store and get some dinner rolls and chow down.

I decided to break the meat up and turn it into a stew and it turned out awful darn good, next time I will put the carrots in sooner.

Something else I do to thicken up stew or roast is bake a sweet potato then mash it up with juice from the pot and stir it back into the pot. Get a bit of sweet potato taste with every bite and makes the juice thicker.
