Sorry to bring this topic back BUT I just saw the payout ($46,690 )  for first place for biggest cat on the West Texas big Bobcat contest... If you had to guess how much do you think this guy weighs??? Im trying to decide if it worth $200.00 to enter contest or not... Thanks guys and let me know your thoughts! I think that in order to win the top prize you have to have the heaviest bobcat and have killed 5 coyotes to enter the bobcat. Someone might correct if I am wrong.

They killed the only bobcat they called in mid- fternoon on the first day then hunted hard and could only get 3 coyotes on a large ranch full of coyotes and a lot of bobcats. I think it took a bobcat over 32 lbs to win the top prize this year.

yes the rules state you must have killed 5 coyotes to enter a cat... but with a top prize like that it might be worth it to hunt hard for 24 hours and see if you get lucky. I think this cat is pretty enough to try and get even if I cant enter contest.

I would pay it and try it out. You don't need to let that cat go. You wont find another one like that if your not a predator hunter. If you get the cat and not the yotes you have a pelt people would fight over. That's a beautiful cat.
