I was going thru some of my late Father's stuff yesterday, I found a tin of Percussion caps , must be over 20 years old.
What is a safe way to get rid of these?

Shoot em' up or give them to a muzzleloader.....99% chance they are still good and ready to do their job.

If you really want to dispose of them, drop them in a glass of water for a few days.
I have a couple of boxes of Remington caps from mid 70's that still work.

If stored properly they should still be good. Fire off about a dozen and if they all light off you should be good to go. Before you put them in the water, and if they are #11's, you can send them to me and I'll dispose of them.

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

They'll probably still work. I use my older caps as well as those of questionable reliability for work at the range so I can save the new ones for actually hunting.
