I enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors along with the challenge of the hunt. It also is a time when the family gets together. Hunting is so important in my family that weddings and other types of gatherings are almost a sin to plan between September and February. I further enjoy the processing of the animals myself into different cuts and types of sausage or jerky because I know what goes into it and how it was handled.

I was introduced at 10 when my dad took me ground hog hunting on my grand pas little farm in western NJ. Next at 12 he took me deer hunting and from the moment I saw my first deer, a doe. and my heart was pounding out of my chest and my legs were bouncing up and down I realized there was something about this hunting thing that I really liked.

Been afield every year since 1960. Hunted N J, Colorado, Wyoming, upstate NY, Maine, NH, KS and my beloved adopted Texas. I'm in that phase where I'm OK if I don't score, Just let me out there to see those wonderful critters. I'm retired with my own place I feed all year my beautiful deer and my quail and turkeys. I hunted everyday from Oct through November and December till Jan 5th. I did get the best buck of my life this year in a one buck county but I still hunted with my best friend, my wife of 50 years every day hoping she would score on a mature buck. No such luck this year only smaller bucks and does. I no longer hunt to Kill as stated by a great Spanish philosopher I kill to hunt but only on a limited basis. Killing that is!!!!!
