Yes, we are seeing more than we did all last season. Still killing Bluewings also. Private lease Is anyone seeing any gwt in north texas. Im seeing very few. And yes the hunting has been extremely slow so far this season. The only concentration of birds I can find are wood ducks.

And yes the hunting has been extremely slow so far this season. The only concentration of birds I can find are wood ducks. Weird...I haven't seen but a small handful and they have come in as singles. We have killed about 50 ducks so far this year...mostly mallards with wigeon, pintail, and spoonies. Just kind of been a weird start this year, but I won't complain since we are killing them fairly steady. Unfortunately, I won't be hunting again for a few weeks, but am hopeful a good front or two brings down more birds. It appears A LOT of ducks are holed up around Missouri/Illinois as their counts up there along the Miss and Illinois rivers are 40-50% above average for this time of year. Come on cold up north!!!

Thanks for all of the feedback; appreciate it !! Been switching it up morning/afternoon shoot, with yesterday afternoon in a new timber spot that felt like it held ducks. Sure enough, a small handful it was - I spooked a small group as I approached mid-afternoon. With the early part of the season winding down .. I think I'm going to head east a little further than I normally would, and find the adventure over there. Hope everyone is having fun; Keep the newsfeed coming in.

Per ducks unlimited migration alert. This comes from Nebraska
Juelfs says that the hunting has become increasingly more difficult as a pattern of mild weather has descended on the area, and the mallards have become virtually untouchable.
Conditions are just really tough right now,” Krohn says. “We still have some small ducks and a few mallards have started to trickle in along with some Canada geese, but really not enough to get anyone too excited. The hunting is going to stay tough until we have some weather up north and new birds arrive.”

Got a limit this morning, but it wasnt pretty.....2 ringers, 1 shoveler, 2 teal, and 1 Grey. Been a little slower than last year but still a decent year. Got a 5 man limit of ringers today. We try to pass on blackjacks, but cloudy weather and few other issues w our water this year. Averaging about 5 ducks per hunter, only 3 hunts YTD- way too many blackjacks. Puddle ducks opener, rest mixed bag- we need weather

Ducks are coming in with this weather! Hunted a tank yesterday morning that I scouted Saturday having 10 ducks on it. I bet we had 50-60 come in! Now they were 90% ringnecks but numbers are definitely increasing, excited for next weekend!

Well I went out yesterday evening expecting the cold front to push something down. Hunted a spot I've been on for over 20 years and taken countless birds. Didn't see one duck.
