Booked a hunt with muliemike and was able to get it done. Really pretty ranch and country out there. I have always wanted a free range aoudad and got him the first day of the hunt. Thanks Mike!

Congratulations on collecting a couple of fine trophies! Tell us about the hunt and the rifle/bullet you used to put 'em down.

Spent most of the time driving ranch roads and glassing the hillsides. Those dang mule deer are masters of hiding. I shot my buck bedded down and he had his head laying on the ground. He thought he was in the clear but the guide spotted him about 300 yards. It was a fun hunt in country I’m not used to hunting. I can see why mule deer hunting can be so addicting. It’s ablot different than watching a feeder at 100 yards. The aoudad hunt happened really fast. He was caught coming down off the mountain on a pretty good trot and we were able to get ahead of him and put the shot on him. Took both animals with Browning Xbolt in 270WSM, the first 2 kills for this rifle. That short mag put a whooping on both! I was impressed with the knockdown power that round has. Will definitely be going back out west and hunting mulies again soon.
