I've had the exact same thing happen with Mule Deer bucks. Fun to watch, but can't let them get carried away, and I'll usually chase the live buck off to keep racks from getting broken.

Talk about holding a grudge... His enemy was dead and he was still wailing on him.
I'd say that's a once in a life time experience. I'm glad you were able to experience that and that and captured it on film.

First, great photos. Thats freaking unreal. Have seen bucks fight many time but never after it was dead. Thanks. It has happened once before on this ranch back about 14 yrs ago. I did not witness it but saw the results of it. A 7 yr old buck was shot and then after about 10 minutes was attacked by a 6 yr old buck that was just moving through checking for does.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Awesome series of pics. Makes me wonder about the level of awareness an animal has of "alive" vs "dead". Here we see these Whitetail. I've personally seen quail, pheasants, turkey and even domesticated chickens.
