The bucks were moving this morning for some reason. Not on corn but came to rattling on a morning when it was 76 deg when I got in the blind at 5:45. Then 79 by 8:30. All the bucks came in from different directions, alone and over an hour period as I rattled from the blind. I saw 3 other bucks roaming and looking for does. The cut the track of one of the bucks I rattled in and followed that scent trail off in the same direction. I had deer moving till 9:15 when and I got out about 9:30.
It will be my first sit in the morning just want to see what is coming to the food plots, my do a sequence of rattling just to see who's attention I can get, tell you though the bucks hate it when I piss in their scrape they come back and tear up the ground!!

Don't be surprised if you do not see a deer in the food plot or at a feeder. I can put corn on the roads and it will stay 2 or 3 days at times. I turned spin feeders down and still have corn growing in the pens. I have yet to see a deer eat corn for more than about 2 minutes since bow season started. The bucks here are responding to rattling but it is about 4-7 days to early for them to run in looking for the fight or hot doe. Some will trot in and others walk in. I had two that came right to the blind though. Here are some of the bucks I saw this morning. The first one walked in very early then a doe came in a bit later. He followed and chased here off.
This buck came in just a few minutes later and on the same trail the little buck had entered on. He followed the scent trail to the oats then veered left following where another deer left a scent trail.
That bucks actions as he walked in and left made me rattle after he left. This buck showed up within a couple of minutes. He responded to the rattling and grunt call but did not commit after he crossed the same trail of the buck above. He left in the same direction.
Then a few minutes later this buck came in right at the blind and then crossed the fence 15' from the base of the blind.
Then a bit later another little buck came in on the same trail as the buck that was under the blind and then this young buck came in across the oats.
Then about 8:45 two bucks came out about 550-600 yards away. The larger bodied buck got across the ROW before I could get his pics. Both buck ended up crossing back the way the came in later on but closer to me at about 350-400 yards. Still did not get a good look at the bigger bodied buck. Best hunt of the year so far with 2 new bucks showing up and some rattling action.
You take some awesome pics , I have a nice Nikon setup but I never really mess with it , I need to start sometimes I like to just sit in the blind and watch the wildlife, You have some nice property also, and those bucks look healthy
Thanks , as you know alot of hardwork goes into these plots with hoping to get past the army worms every season and like ranchman said wait as long as you can and it worked, we hunted all week with this cold weather with little to no movement, checked the camera yesterday and new young deer are filtering in never seen them before and and the more mature bucks are still eating at night in the plots so I'm thinking activity will really start picking up the next two weeks !!
Thanks , as you know alot of hardwork goes into these...
Yep, a lot of hard work. I was wondering if it was slow for you to the west as it was slow here. I always see deer while I'm on the tractor and didn't see one while reseeding the plots. Very few at the house.
It's been kinda slow , but the acorn crop we had and the green browse that has to why , but since those two days of freezing temps everything is turning brown so my numbers should go way up and I just picked up my utv so I'm able to use the road feeder again and feed my senderos!!
I finally saw some deer yesterday eat in my food plots. Little more activity in the feed pens but nothing like years past for this time of the year. Still a lot of acorns and green weeds right now, so they are not eating much corn from the feeders or roads. Deer are in great shape though.

I normally run my electric feeder on the back of my tractor, mounted on a 3-pt receiver hitch. Haven't done it yet given the amount of corn under the feeders.
