Prime example of what is wrong with AR. Obviously an old buck that will produce more of that crappy narrow genetic.
I think age of the animal should be a determining factor to impose a dumb fine over an inch of antler.

agree. He might make it, but if you shoot him, and he is 12 1/2" you are screwed. I gave the green light to my son on one that I thought was well over last year. Upon ground checking him, he was like 13 3/4". If it's not clear cut legal, you would be better to ground check him next year.

Not worth the risk, my guess is he’s an inch either side.

A good view of him in daylight might make it easier to tell. But he's close.

I think he probably just makes it, but too close to be sure. Too much at stake to roll the dice on him.

Nope. Not worth 1500 + if you’re wrong. Not worth staking your reputation on.

You could always get a tpwd biologist to come out and tranquilize it take a measure before the hunt starts.
I'm sure they would appreciate your efforts and trying to comply with these ARs that have us all pulling out a slide rule every time a deer's ears aren't up to par with their antlers.
roflmao

I think as time goes by and these narrow racks are allowed to propagate in the gene pool we're going to see a lot more mature bucks that can squeeze through narrows. We've all seen some older bucks with narrow racks that just keep reproducing regardless of their age. I understand the intent of the restriction but I'm still not convinced with the results.

Best let that one walk though it's not worth the dollars if you're wrong.
