We mainly eat deer and feral pig at our house along with chicken and fish.
Beef now seems mushy and greasy to me.
I honestly crave deer meat.
What other game meats are good?
A friend mentioned Scimitar as the best meat he ever ate.

I'm a firm believer that the best I've ever had was a young pronghorn antelope I shot in Montana. As long as they don't run and fill up their muscles with adrenaline, they are probably my favorite. That or some never frozen elk backstrap.

So far:
Moose Sheep Deer Elk
In that order. A lot may depend on how taken care of and/or prepared. Moose and caribou are generally at or near the top for most people who live up north. I have never hunted nor eaten caribou.
I can eat feral hog, pronghorn, mtn goat, and even bear if prepared properly but wouldn’t say any of those are favorites.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

Elk
Newly aquired taste for Axis, since this year is the first time I've harvested one.
Wife won't eat whitetail unless it's chicken fried. And she won't eat fried food but once a quarter at most. She raved about Axis, and very much prefers it over any wild meat I have cooked.
Grilled meat, I'll take elk and Axis over whitetail any day. Figures, since they're both harder to come by than whitetail is.

Mule deer is my favorite. Moose is good and mild. Can't eat Pronghorn, always just jerky the whole thing.

Elk and axis for red meat, dusky grouse for feathered fare. Got to be the best bird on the planet followed very close to dove.

Axis deer on Molokai.
Since they eat a lot of wild basil, they pretty much season themselves.

Been pretty impressed with elk if cooked right. Can be tough if you don’t know what you are doing.

I am starting off at a disadvantage-my wife eats cows, pigs, and chickens. She does not do fish, seafood, or lobster, so game meat is only for me and all the kids/grandkids.
Without a doubt, eland is the best overall. Kudu and gemsbok in Africa are a close second. The Scimitar Oryx I shot at Mason Mt. was very good.
For elk meat, I shoot cows, calves, and spikes. Big bulls taste like crap.
I would much rather eat whitetail deer, than any mule deer.
Pronghorn are either good or bad, if you cut off a steak and it's good the whole thing will be good. If it is gamey and strong, either make it into Pepperoni sticks or hope you get someone else's meat back!
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Quail Pheasant Wild Turkey Deer In that order unless we are talking grilled meat, then Feral Hog, which I get the least satisfaction out hunting, goes from not making the list, to the top of the list.
