I know, I know, no documented Canada Lynx in Texas. And they are very, very similar to bobcats, lynx rufus. The key is probably in the tail. But, look at THOSE EARS!!

Not even close really. Yes there are no Lynx in Texas. They prey on snowshoe hairs primarily, but a lynx has crazy big feet, really long rear legs too.

Lynx are a much larger animal. Also, the Canadian lynx has huge paws in comparison to a bobcat. Here is a photo on one being held by a person for size reference. Look at the massive paws adapted for walking on snow.

Lynx also have an entirely black tipped tail while bobcat has black on top of tail and white underside.

Seen both and there isn't any question between them imo. Glad your photo wasn't of a black house cat.................
