Lol, we'll see. My hope is actually to get better and more interesting commissions rather than to increase my base prices. I'd like to take on more complex work, which pushes my skills and takes more time, and therefore costs more for the final product. I don't intend to raise the prices on my standard work in the short term, unless the quantity of orders just makes things ridiculous.

I like watching the show and know nothing about knives. At one point I will order a nice knife but for now watch the show to learn about all the different profiles

Winnings are indeed withheld until after the airing. They have to make sure that the time and money they invest in production makes it to the TV with no spoilers.

Very cool. I watched this show for the first time on Sunday in the hour I was allowed to veg out. I'll tune in for sure.

I'll be watching it for sure. That trap spring knife you made me years ago inspired me to get into knife making.

I think I can safely answer this without revealing anything, by way of an analogy.

If I worked really hard and lost 50 pounds for a beach vacation, then it rained when I went to the beach, I'd still lost 50 pounds.

Using that logic, I did indeed build the power hammer just prior to going on the show. Either I would get to use it in the final, or I wouldn't, but either way I'd have a power hammer

I'm the proud owner of a couple of Jason's knives! He sure would have gotten my vote on the Forged in Fire contest. I thought he outperformed the other guys, from both a product and attitude standpoint. Good job, Jason: you should be very proud of your performance.

Travis isn't likely to try it. He's moved and is re-building all the cabinets in his new house's kitchen. All his knife stuff is in storage at the moment.

My "Cutting Deeper" episode airs tomorrow night at 7. It's a re-hash, but they kind of compress the story on the first two rounds and include a lot more of the home forge stuff.

That first knife was outstanding, with such little time to build it. Good looking, strong, sharp knife. That was a close call on the finale. Well done, sir!

I caught the beginning of it last night. Was helpful because I only saw the end last week. Now my son and I are officially hooked on this show.

The episode before the rerun last night they had a deer carcass to test the blades made at home. One of them cut the hanging deer in half!!

It is ALWAYS highly impressive when they make blades capable of cutting an animal clean in half.

Doug Marcaida is a force to be reckoned with. So glad he is a nice guy!
