Kawasaki seems to think you need a snorkel on some of their SxS's. If you look at the air box, the inlet has a hose that runs to the roll cage so it inhales right behind and above your head. If you unhook that hose, you can actually talk to somebody while driving it! It is before the aircleaner box so you will have to service your aircleaner element more often. My 2014 Mule 610 has this same setup, but don’t notice it to be a noise problem. After all of the recent rain I was crossing water over floorboard this weekend and never missed a beat. Chugged through about 200 yards of flooded pasture standing in water about a foot deep, and realized after going through that I hadn’t even put it in 4wd.

We have a Mule 610 and 4010 (2 bench seats). Noticeable difference in how quiet the 4010 is just because the muffler and engine I guess is further back. If you haven't been in the more current SXS I think you will be surprised how quiet they have gotten. A friend of mine hunting said he couldn't hear me drive up to pick him up fromt he stand in the 4010. Way different than a Rhino I use to own.

Ranger 1000 crew here, much quieter than my broinlaws 570 ranger. Dont have anything to compare it to though, but for me is perfect

Have you thought of a golf cart? Less expensive, simpler to maintain, and unless you're in a swamp, will go just about anywhere with some updating. I have a Polaris that sets in the shop most of the time...the golf cart does all I need. With a limited slip diff and good tires, they will surprise you.
