Bobo is spot on. I've yet to see one sitting on a dealer lot that isn't marked up, and according to the salesman they can't keep them on the lots.

I saw a dark grey one today that's one of the best looking Raptors I've seen. Walked over to check it out, and saw these.

Well I can't upload pic, but marked up $25K and marked SOLD!

Guess I wont be getting one then if that's the deal. At the end of the day its just a truck, but sure is tempting after you ride in one. It'll be even more tempting with 7.0L V8, then topped it with a rouse supercharger.

I suggest a small investment in which would make you f250 much more enjoyable.

Carli suspension will gladly set you up an upgrade to your F250 that could agruebly be called a raptor killer.

For the price of a Raptor I’d rather buy a wore out half ton and build it up. You could give it more power and better suspension and save money.

Ability to essentially turn off anti-braking makes a difference on dirt,

My best friend has had 4 Raptor's,and has Roush'ed out all of them. I just installed the Roush cold air intake on it Thursday, and re-flashed the computer. The thing that I hate about the new one's is the engine shuts off when you come to a stop, then it starts back up when you let off the brake. They say it saves gas,but at what cost to the starter and other engine parts.
If you have to do an emergency stop,it also shuts off,and the transmission gets lost, when the motor starts again the transmission is still in whatever gear it was in when you slammed on the brakes - can you say burnt clutches!

They are a fun, smooth riding fast truck, but even his 600+ HP Raptor couldn't out pull my stock 2012 Power Wagon.

The PowerWagin and Raptor are 2 completely different trucks. Baffles me why they are ever compared. If I had my choice, I’d have the PowerWagon any day

Get a TRD tundra and drop a super charger and king suspension all the way around and you have a raptor killer for less.

My boss has a 2018 raptor and he's into Baja racing. He told me the raptor at the dealership is not identical to what would be run in Baja races. He does like it a lot though

Of course it’s not. The raptor has good suspension but people for some reason think it’s a trophy truck. That’s like saying a corvette is a formula one car.

It’s hard for people to truly understand the difference until they have seen or risen in a truck with 24-30” of wheel travel.

Not to mention production trucks have to meet high safety requirements

It’s a cool truck no doubt. But take that money and build a truck made for the desert and have a better truck

Been in both I’m very aware of the difference, the raptor doesn’t have the above wheel travel. You think you can build a true trophy truck for the same cash? You are going to come up a few decibels shy. You could build a 2wheel drive long travel prerunner out of a beater for close to same cost but not true trophy truck. Big difference certainly not a new truck same trim package

If you ever get the chance, I highly recommended this, the resort it’s on is awesome.

It would take about 400k to just buy a trophy truck but you can build a truck that will outperform the raptor for less money which is what I would prefer.

I wasn’t talking a true trophy truck, that would be in the $200k range. I have ridden in a very heavily modified LS3 powered Tacoma with 20/24 inches of travel. Guy built it for $35k and itsvstreet legal.

Nothing against toyota's but I like to keep it as american as possible. As for GM, i got a bad taste in my mouth after they took all that government money, Ford didn't take any money as far as I know. I know there's some ford parts coming out of mexico but if that's what it takes to keep them from excepting tax payers money to keep their company running then I can't argue the matter. Paying taxes is one thing but buying a over priced truck (they all are) and paying sales tax+ from a company funded by tax money just makes me redline.

Are you sure on that number? About 21” “ front kit” is about tops on a full size two wheel drive truck, without cutting holes in hoods and beds.

Also you have to remember your comparing new truck price to a build a truck price. 35k is about what a new Upper trim Tacoma costs. I true long travel kit front and back, plus shocks, rims Etc is over 20k, that not including install.

Anyway if you took a new lariat trimmed 4x4 f150 you would be with in a 3-5k of new raptor with similar hardware and axle swap, just go look at 15-16 Sema builds
