if you ask me, the .410 pistol would be the best round. I've got a glock 23 under bed, glock 27 in nightstand, benelli shotgun under bed, tristar pistol grip shotgun behind bedroom door, colt diamondback under pillow with rat shots in it, and I would still prefer my judge in my dresser top drawer for ease of access with small shot scatter but still being very accepted. Plus I don't have to be right on target considering I'm agitated and off targed form normal

The most recent stats show the 45ACP has the highest percentage of one shot stops using the best high quality ammunition. However it seems that the the 357 is perhaps the best, but this is using the older high velocity 158 grain stuff that was used in pistols with 5 and 6 inch barrels a number of years ago.
