7.62 Jonson? How do you even measure something like that so precisely?

See? This is fun.

But can you stand on one foot and recite that list backwards?

The .700 WTF : For Hunting Dinosaurs

The cartridge, named the .700 WTF (“What The F…”) and is made by fire forming a .50 BMG brass case, trimming it to 3" in length and then sizing it. The round is loaded with a 1132 grain paper patched .700 lead cast bullet.
The rifle, with just a 16.25"; barrel, can push the 1132 grain of lead up to 2300 fps. Thats 13,000 ft/lbs of energy, right up there with the .50 BMG and far exceeding the .700 Nitro Express.

Shooting the rifle without the muzzle break would generate 150 feet per pound of recoil on the shooter’s shoulder.

The rounds are so large, you can only craft six per pound of lead.

I have 223, 257R, 6.5x55, 6.8 SPC, 7-08, 308, 338 Federal, 350 Rem Mag & 9.3x62.

Most of those are niche calibers that aren't very popular. I haven't played much with the 7-08, 350 or 9.3.

One of my favorite hunts was a free range Axis and Black Buck hunt in Mountain Home. I used the Ruger 338 Federal with 180 Ballistic Tips and it was a hammer. I thought this is the best caliber ever.

The last 2 years, I've use the boring 308 with 150 Ballistic Tips on a mule deer, 2 whitetails a hog and Javelina and realized it just as effective. It's all about good bullets and proper bullet placement.

If we only talked about what really matters, which is "what bullet, hitting how fast, and where?" we'd be bored to death and no one would be here. The up side is, we might be out shooting or hunting somewhere instead of glued to a monitor and clicking around for an opportunity to comment. Which brings me to, WTF am I doing here?

wtf

Thanks, that question has been bugging me ever since George Clooney played Batman.
