Weird question maybe: What brand do you preference when you buy your gear and why?
I try and keep all of my gear the same brand so that the prints and everything line up as good as possible.Gonna try and stock up while things go on sale. Seems like Drake is leading the market in my area, I like Banded but their line of stuff isn't very deep. What other suggestions do you have.

Most of mine is academy, Game winner. Don’t have any complaints, most of it is on its third season.

I prefer anything given to me, or what is available for the right price at the right time. Just an FYI- You can find high quality name brand hunting clothes at goodwill in cities for cheap- if you go regularly and look.
IMO- Coordinating patterns is for you, not the birds. They don't care what pattern you're wearing, as long as you're not moving. But if you feel better coordinating, and have the funds to do so, by all means go for it.
The only brand I do shy away from is redhead brand (bass pro gear). I haven't had any in a LONG time (15-20 years?), but in the past their hunting stuff just didn't last as long as other gear, and was overpriced for the quality. May have changed, but that was my experience in the past.

Try a pair of these, some of the better hunting socks I have. And if you put a hole in them, they get replaced for free. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/redhead-lifetime-guarantee-all-purpose-wool-socks-for-men

I'm also the guy who just wears brown pants cause I'm sitting in the mud most of the time. No ego about what I wear as long as I'm warm and hidden. I tend to think that in North Texas all of the green in Max 5D is too much. Need a tanner color.

I held out for a really long time on getting Sitka but was given some as a gift for Christmas and absolutely love it. I will definitely be buying more of it.

$10k is right for that crap. I actually hate the way it looks too.
Mossy Oak Shadow Blade is my pattern of choice.

I like Drake too. Has been great and lasted for years with no complaints. I also go with whats on sale and keeps me warm and dry. Don't see me pulling up in my Range Rover and hopping out with my Sitka on anytime in this lifetime.

Mossy Oak Shadow Blade is my pattern of choice. More expensive than other gear yes, but it is definitely not crap. $500 for a high quality jacket that is actually waterproof is a drop in the bucket compared to all the other hunting gear I already own.

Yeah I understand that. I'm still not down to pay $500 for a jacket. My $170 one works great for 3 years now and I have never had one issues with it.

I really want to like Drake. I own one of their combo jacket things. I wore it to a hunt test last year (a field event with my dog) and it was raining all day and cold. I have never been more soaked. Everything underneath the jacket was drenched. Not sure how it really occurred but it is not a jacket I would wear if rain was in the forecast.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for... buy once cry once and you'll be happier.
My Drake waders are amazing after 5 years of abuse and sitka sure makes some nice chit imo

Drake is garbage Yeah, soaking wet and freezing is not how I would prefer to spend my days outside. I will always gladly pay more for something that is truly waterproof. You can't put a price on warm and dry. I don't own any Sitka or other big fancy camo brands at this point but I did buy some Arc'teryx rain gear and it's amazing! It hurt to buy but I am dry and warm when I wear it. SOLD!
