This time of year always reminds me of the best hunt I’ve ever been on. When I wa a senior in high school a buddy and I had some fine pointers. Christmas morning, we Took our two best dogs. We hunted 2 sections south of ODESSA that morning, another buddy of ours lived on. We killed 108 blues by 10:00 AM, and ran out of beer. That was a good hunt. I’m afraid we’ll never see that good of hunting again. In 2005 8 of us “found” 120 bird limit by 10:30am. We probably killed close to 150 but 120 was what we could find. Son/grandson and friend are deer hunting there now. Quail are eating the corn before the deer can even get there.

You don't throw them back once you have shot your limit.

You telling us we have to count unrecovered birds against our limits? No sir. We don’t. Funny that you would comment about 8 guys with legal limits but ignore the 3 kids well over twice their limits. 😂

Yeah I figured that out before I read your response this am. I was champagne induced comprehension challenged when I read that last night. My apologies. Glad I didn’t post more than I did.
