I have had this one buck with his tongue hanging way out in about every picture he is in. Do y’all know the cause of this? Sorry I don’t know how to upload pictures.

Deer with a fever (often caused by Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease or EHD/Bluetongue) will have their tongue out if the infection is severe. These deer are almost always found by water and this would be during the fall.

Could also be Woody Tongue which is a bacterial infection of the tongue. It is usually fatal in the wild without treatment.

A buddy of mine had a doe on his place that was the same way. Her tongue looked like that her whole life. I have no idea what causes it, but she always appeared to be healthy and she was able to eat normally.

I have had different does in in just about every place I have hunted with their tong's hanging out. I was always told that they were overheated. Makes sense also with them possibly have a fever too.
