Made it to Hamilton, the final destination. Decompress, acclimate, and slow down tomorrow. I'm beat.

Drove by the Beartooth, Crazy, Absoroka, and Beaverhead mountains. Drove through the Bridgers. Great to be back up here. Drove along the Big Hole river for a long ways, and did, in fact, spy two beaver.

Into the Sapphires on Sunday. Been a while since my butt was on a horse.

Well, you were bitchin' about me stopping, so I didn't! (I'm not allowed to stop for beavers anyways.)

Will do my best to take some pics.

I’m jealous. That’s got to be a much nicer place than the Loving County that I’m stuck in.

Killed a nice Texas mulie in Loving county. In the dunes. Plus, it's the least populated county in the lower 48, so there's that. I guess it's an "acquired taste". Hang in there.

You wouldn’t know it by driving in this traffic.

It’s not so bad here, but it ain’t Montana. Enjoy it.

How is it up there? I'm headed to Darby next July for the first time ever. I am super excited. Any info you would like to share is greatly appreciated. I have a lot of questions. Ha ha

Most of my time up that way was near Fort Logan hunting the big belts and Little belts, fishing in a private 15 acre tank, beaver creek and Smith River.

In the Big belts on the east side about 50 miles east of Helena keep Cool Creek is the drainage 2 of my elk were killed.

Outfitter operates out of Hamilton. I think we're headed a little east into the Sapphire mountains.

The two bulls I have killed were both further east, south of Bozeman.

I did "hunt" with my brother and some business friends out of Darby several years ago on a ranch that bordered wilderness, but it was way too soon after the fires and there was hardly any sign that elk were there. And the LO that took our money knew it; no mule deer allowed, but a relative of the owner comes and shoots one...you know the drill. I'm sure this hunt will be an improvement, no matter what happens.

Western asked for pictures.

I grew up thinking the "Town Pump" meant something completely different.

Shawheel made it. He's getting a second round for us at the bar. Supper, then sleep, then cowboy up in the morning and go whack something. Wind's gonna pick up as we're riding in I think. Moisture later in the week. Thanks for all the kind thoughts boys.
