Patterson, Took a running back from 3-A school that nobody even looked at. To being a projected mid-first round pick as defensive end. Patterson is one hell of a coach.

Might ruffle some feathers with this, but Patterson is not even in the same league as Bill Snyder. Don't get me wrong, Patterson is a good coach, but he has a long way to go before he should be discussed in the same conversation as Snyder.

What a game! UT has almost 60k students. Do you think someone could at least make 50% of their field goals? Is it too late for tryouts?

Best part of the game is when the the stadium erupted in the "beat OU!" chant. Gonna be a good one next week.

I moved to the Austin area in late 1996 and Snyder has had a good run. In particular, against the Longhorns during this stretch (9-4 I think).
However, the last 4-5 matchups have went to the home team. This one will be close but I suspect the Horns will have the edge at home. Will be rooting for the Cats though and a little Coach Snyder magic! I hate to say I wasn't far off the mark. Tough 2OT loss. Congrats to the Horns.

I'd give the edge to Snyder just because I think his talent is generally a notch lower than what even TCU gets just due to proximity. Total 100% class act too. I believe you are correct. Snyder gets the most out of the talent he has. One of our starting linebackers is the nephew of a high school team mate of mine. The kid was a walk-on who started out covering kicks. Now on scholarship and starting on defense. He has also been named academic all big 12. This is common with Snyder to identify and develop players in the program.

Dog fight to the end. Those Wildcats stay home and don't miss tackles. A show of respect to the old coach. They put him on Godzilla tron and most people gave coach Snyder a round of applause. Nothing but respect for coach here at Texas.

Also, fear not for next year. We are getting a kicker. The second ranked kicker in the country is going to Texas in 2018. He was actually at the game last night. He Being from Lake Travis , I listen to the games on the radio. He has a strong leg. He alway kicks touch backs, and he is very accurate. https://247sports.com/player/cameron-dicker-46040079

so, are we "set" at QB? sincere question. I would think so since the Texas has a patch work oline, and if you are a pocket passer (shane) you need a pocket to throw from. Sam just gives them another element that Shane can't. Sam will give a defense headaches.

If you've never been, it's a blast and totally electric. OU getting beat last week kind of puts a damper on it, but it's a great experience. Get to the Fairgrounds early and take part in all the revelry outside the stadium. Might even catch the bands entering the stadium playing the fight songs.

First time and we are excited. Gonna get to the fair rounds early, and take it all in. I'm glad they moved the kick to 230.

Damn, watched the Herman press conference. He pointed out that the offense had true freshman running back, quarterback, tight end, guard. All in at some point in the game Saturday. Followed by red shirt wide receiver and sophomore Center and Tackle. Jesus where is the depth?

They just need to get the offensive line playing at a MUCH higher level. I don't know if it's due to injuries or they don't have the right guys, but the O Line is really the only issue that needs fixing. maybe the kicker, but he was good in JC.

Sooooo... Rumblings around Austin are to get rid of Tim Beck the Texas offensive coordinator. Emotionally I kind of understand why people would want that, but rationally I don't know if that's the right move. The offense has gone through 5 coordinators in 4 years. In that Texas offense of line has been decimated by injuries. I don't know if it's fair to blame Tim Beck for that. What say you?

I wouldn't make any coaching changes for at least another year. The O Line just can't open up any holes.

Herman may have a bunch of youngsters in there, but the play selection in overtime left a LOT to be desired. Play calling did not really give UT a chance to win at the end. Maybe they had nothing left, but drawing something up in the dirt would have been preferential and more productive than what they came up with.

Also not so sure on the injury side of what is going on. This makes 2 weeks in a row where QB ended up bouncing his head off the turf pretty hard, but continued to play. Wonder if that had any bearing on the confusion of the last play. I noticed where Ehlinger was not at workout on Sunday due to an evaluation of a head injury..

I don't know how they let him back in the OU game. From my view he was out cold and not moving. It happen on the Texas sideline so someone had to have notice. I would think. Earlier today the #1 juco TE decommitted from Texas.
