We've got about 3500 acres in Val Verde County and never had Axis. We now have a group or two. Do they stay long and can we possibly expect them to breed and hang around. A few of the doe's are nursing, a few juvenile Bucks and at least one mature male. We're not going to pressure them but they are taking over a couple of feeders.

For us axis are iffy. We tend to see them a few times a year. When we started hunting them and their pattern never seemed to change, when they come through we will get a few. But I know some people that have them daily just like whitetail.

We're Northeast of 277/377 Loop just about half way between Lake Amistad and 2523. About every 2-3 years they'll show up for a few weeks then they're gone. This group has been around since February.
