How is survey cost typically calculated on rural property?

I was just quoted $2,200 for a 160 acres quarter section, mix pasture and cultivation, corners marked and 4 maps.

That's about right

Also depends on how much detail you are wanting.

Difficulty of terrain and vegetation could add to the cost.

If they do it with GPS then the vegetation is not a big deal unless you want numerous stakes put out and not just the corners staked. A lot depends on what you want. The last survey I had done I wanted stakes every couple yards to make it easier to fence. That added a little to the cost but was worth it in the end.
