Looks like this guy is carrying Colt 1873 Single Action on his hip with a Winchester 1873 in the saddle scabbard.

OK, here's a fun question about that second picture - which hat would you wear?

Erathkid, the guy who sent me the pics said that the second one was taken on Spur Ranch, circa 1910. Spur is in Dickens County, about 60 miles east of Lubbock. So I think you were correct in guessing the location. I was not given any information on the location of the first picture, however, written in pencil on the back of the picture was "Indian Fighter."

Very cool pics! My mother's side of family is from Spur, Roaring Springs and Matador. Sure wish I knew more about their past.
