So I need some help. I am working on a project. I have a Ruger 10/22 takedown that I want to put a compact scope on with quick disconnect rings. The problem is, in order to use quick disconnect rings, you have to put a picatinny rail on which covers up the sights. I don't want that. What I want is see thru rings that allow me to use the iron sights when the scope is mounted.
I know there are weaver rings for the 10/22 that can do this, but those are not quick disconnect. They are more of a permanent system. I want to be able to take the scope off for storage in my pack.
It seems like as long as the Ruger 10/22 has been around, there should be a solution to have a QD scope while preserving the ability to use the sights. I just can't find it.

There has to be demand for that set up to have someone manufacture it. Not enough demand.

Only thing I can come up with will cost some money.
Put the rifle in a chassis system, install the optic on top, as well as 45° offset back up iron sights.

There has to be demand for that set up to have someone manufacture it. Not enough demand. I agree. Plenty of people mount a scope on a 22lr, and zero it at 50 yards. The key is to get a scope with a low enough magnification that you won't need irons.

Put a Skinner Peep sight on it and forget the scope. QD see through rings make no sense to me but that is just me.

Thanks for the input, but I have my reasons. The Takedown was made to be packable, as in a backpacking, which is what I want to use it for. I love iron sights, but I am nearing 50 and it is getting harder each year to use them at long ranges. This is why I need the scope. But scopes are no good for up close and that is why I want the sights to be usable as well. Last week I was out hunting rabbits with my scoped 10/22 and a rattlesnake sounded out about two feet in front of me. I had to instinct shoot at it because I did not have see thru sight. Yes, I did kill it, but I tell you this because it demonstrates that there is sometimes a need for iron sights on a scoped gun. I know tons of people who desire the his same set up, so there is plenty of demand as well. But like me they can't find anything to make this setup possible.
Thanks anyway.

Great suggestions. I had seen the rail you suggested and considered it if nothing else came up. I found this NCSTAR MRUHB1022V2 rail, and I think this is the ticket. It does what I want. My problem now is that the compact scope I bought has a 3 inch eye relief, but that is not enough on the Ruger 10/22 Takedown. I can use it like this, but I have to scoot my head forward quite a bit. I need a scope with a five to six inch eye relief for it to feel comfortable on the 10/22. Handgun scopes have 12 inch eye relief, which is way to much, so to solve this problem, I have ordered this off set QD rail from UTG. Hopefully it will be the right tool. Right now, here is what my setup looks like. Here is a picture showing the see thru rail and that the sight is usable on the 10/22.

I meant mounting a 1-4 scope would allow you to make fast close-up shots, and give you the ability to shoot at distance accurately.
