Sorry to hear that. One thing that helped me is reading The Old Man and the Boy by Robert Ruark. Wonderful story that will bring you great memories of youth and dogs and the outdoors.

i had a young coon hound that i had to put down about 25 years ago..i loved him very much..swore to never have another dog..then i married a woman with 2 loveable adorable dogs..i care for them..but refuse to fall in love with them..it hurts so bad when they leave us..my sincere condolences

My condolences on your loss. When I see posts like this I'm reminded of Will Rogers' quote "if there aren't any dogs in heaven, when I die I want to go where they went"
