Tikka or Savage all day long. Both will shoot lights out, question is what bullet do you want to shoot and choose the right twist. I recently bought a Tikka T3 Varmint in 22-250, love the rig!

seems like the rem 700 I was leaning towards is not my best option. I think I will check out tikka or sako...according to pigman all a person needs is a savage, a luepold and hornady ammo confused2

Sako if you shoot factory ammo. 1:8 twist Tikka if you handload.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

My 1:8 twist Tikka 223 is singing like a bird with handloads. Know a guy with a Savage 223 who has gotten great results also (I think with factory ammo).

This is the same pre order that I used for a LH Tikka 22-250 in 1-8 twist. Decent price with some extras included. As stated it should really shoot 60-75 grain rounds very well. We will see

I wouldn't let is sway you too much, there are just a bunch of people on here who love to hate remingtons. Some of my best rifles are remingtons.

If you haven't looked at them I would also add weatherby vanguard to your list, I have been pleased with them in the past.

I have a 700 5R in .223. It shoots .77 grain Match Kings VERY well.

I agree with that. Any of them will probably do a fine job for you. Get what you like.

From among these choices (none of which would be my first choice), I'd buy a Sako if the intent was to leave it alone. If I was going to do custom work, I'd buy a Remington.

Tikka and SAKO use the same barrel out of the same factory....off the same machinery ...been there and seen it in person.

Whittakers has been putting together a group buy on Tikka 3x 22-250 8 twists, call Darrik and see if you can get into that deal IMO would the very best thing to do. Haven't heard that he's closed the sign up list & might want a deposit, but has also offered a short term layaway payout in the past on other same kinda group buy deals. FWIW Whittakers has become who I check 1st when looking for something because of the unbeatable personal service from the Owner himself.

Order a Timney trigger first. You need it.
