These guys have taken over my 4x6 Monarch blind. Not the prettiest to look at but will give them a few more months to grow and start flying. Was able to clean out the dead mice and regurgitation around them without disturbing them too much or touching them at all. They do like to hiss, a lot.

The carpet has made the ultimate sacrifice, no doubt.

Just wait until mom brings them a skunk to snack on! That's when things get bad.

I had the exact same thing happen to TWO of my blinds last year! Man, what a mess. BUT, the carpet on the floor actually made the clean-up a lot easier than I thought it would be after they flew the nest. I used a heavy rake to pull out the bulk of the mess then removing the carpet took care of about 99% of everything. Just be sure to wear a respirator of some type. You really don't want to be breathing in that stuff.

How long before those two are flying? Depends upon how hard you throw them! I'm kidding of course!
Are you going to pull those pistols, or whistle Dixie?

I am not a bird man so the question is what the hell are they? Usually owls nest up in a blind, but those ugly things kind of look like buzzards with the long beaks and feet do not look like a raptors, toes seem to long and no sign of talons? If they are buzzards I think I would have to kick them out now

I released owls from 3 different blinds on properties that I was looking at last month. They were banging into the windows when I climbed the ladders to check out the blinds. They were all a mess inside But the worst was a blind that had hinged windows that swung inward. It had four dead and one live one in it. The live one flew off when I unlatched the door then opened it with a stick from below. Most seemed to get in through slightly open sliding windows.

Oh heck I forgot about my owl encounter 2 weeks ago. In the blind early in the morning, pretty close to the front window just staring out when I what looked like a screech came flying partially into the blind, I jumped and it put it in reverse and backed out. Was thankful for another outdoor memory.
BTW are those baby owls?

Yeah you might as well go ahead and make a bonfire out of that blind. I found two grown ones in my blind one day. The window must have been left open then they flew in and the window slid down and closed them in. They had been there about a week and I've never known two birds that hadn't eaten in a week could produce so much output. Had to throw away the carpet, take the chairs to the car wash and then leave them out for weeks. The cleanup on top of the hantavirus or norovirus or whatever potential made me vow the next time it happens it's the nuclear option on the box.

Those are Barn Owls. They are beautiful when grown.
They will grow up fast and should be out in a month or so.
Hang a small dog house in a tree and they will use that instead of the blinds.
They tend to hang around where there is a good food supply, so there must be mice and/or rats in the area they are cleaning up.

I have an elevated fiberglass blind, about 15 feet in the air. Someone left the windows open. Guess what? It has now become an owl breeding sanctuary.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Could be worse. I have a tower blind 10 feet off the ground with a trap door entry. I'm usually armed on the lease in case of snakes or what not. Every other year or so there will be something on my trapdoor when I go to lift it up. Still have a hole in the metal blind wall from where I ventilated a coon. I don't know who was more scared at the encounter but I do know I lived thru it and he didn't.

Vultures violated my blind two years in a row!
Window kept blowing open.
My son says it's good scent control.

Took a couple of 12 year olds pig hunting Wednesday evening. Right before dark we watched an owl sweep across the field towards my feeder then land in a tree. About a minute later it took off and flew right at us, and I mean right at us, we thought it was going to fly into the window It landed on the roof and we could hear it moving around for about 30 seconds, then it hopped on a sumac tree about 10-12' just to the left of the blind. It just sat there and stared at us for about 10 minutes until it got to dark and we left. Way cool and what a beautiful bird Their babies are still butt ugly
