P.S. Don't add refried beans...... Yes indeed, and so do the hard boiled eggs. Get a bite of egg with some juice and it'll change your life.  No tomatoes or beans in my gumbo.

Thank fellers. Normally I make my roux dark dark, but am always playing around with recipes. This time I used a light brown and a dark roux mixed.
Man it sure would be cool to have some sort of a cook off/get together.....

Man it sure would be cool to have some sort of a cook off/get together..... Then there should be a refried bean category for sure.

Man it sure would be cool to have some sort of a cook off/get together..... Then there should be a refried bean category for sure. I was using refried beans before being refried was cool... refried frijoles has it's place.  Sometimes I wonder just how many folks on here know how to turn out "real" refried beans.  I say this, because a majority of posters are from North of I-10. Which = Yankee.
