Well, with Father's Day right around the corner, I'm looking at getting my old man a digital wireless thermometer for his smoker. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or suggestions? Looking to keep it around $100-$150. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I remember someone discussing it on here before but I couldn't find anything in the search.

The thermapen mk4 is definitely awesome but for a digital wireless thermometer for a smoker, this is definitely what I'd recommend. http://www.thermoworks.com/Smoke

Awesome! Thanks for the info! He just started using the real cheap digital one with a wire, wal-mart special $11.99. It works great except for the fact he forgets to go out and check it (i.e. Meat gets over cooked). That's why I'm wanting to get him a wireless so it can sit inside the house. That Smoke looks just like what I'm looking for. Thanks Mac

If he has an iPhone, the iGrill is great but requires an app.

Thanks BigPig. I might need to look into that for myself. As for my dad, his phone is pretty much the equivalent of the old JitterBug phone ![roflmao roflmao](/forum/images/graemlins/default/roflmao.gif)

Thermapen MK4. Happy birthday to me! I added the silicon protective case and leather holster. I love this thing.

I use a thermapen and the iGrill, yeah the drawback to the iGrill is the distance being an issue but still better than opening the lid from time to time, or even having to walk out to check the temp.
