Well, sliced into my finger pretty bad earlier. Right across the knuckle of my middle finger. You could see my bone. Bleeding like a stuck pig. I didn't want to go to the hospital so talked my wife into giving me stitches. She's never done it before but think she did great. I keep some packs of sutures on hand as well as a skin stapler but being across the knuckle staples wouldn't have worked.

been there done that. good job on the stitching, why is always on the knuckle? keep it clean, my wife has threated to take all sharp objects away,

You can buy them on Amazon. As well as skin staplers. I keep both on hand.

Yup hate cuts on the hand, I seem to always pop it open a time or two before I get it through my head I need to take it easy till its healed.

I did the same thing to my right index finger. Was cutting an old hose off top of a tank end at my shop, and I somehow managed to close my pocket knife on it.

Clean it, put antibiotic ointment on it and cover it. Splint it w popsycle stick so it won't bend. I just saw a doctor on tv.

Ouch. Sutures needed to be a little closer together, but should still heal. Just keep from bending it and opening up the cut.
What suture material is that?
