What do you call a loaded burger?

mayo, mustard, cheese and pickles. All else I can take or leave but I want those 4 items on every burger.

Meat, cheese and Mayo dipped in ketchup. I prefer my salad on the side... dumped in the trash.

The more simplistic the better, adding too much stuff to where it just falls out is unacceptable. Then you have the places that stack it so high you have to squish it down to even bite it, that's also unacceptable. Full bun coverage of the pattie and not overly thick.

Thanks for the photos Herbie. I posted this after dinner last night. Mine was not that pretty, but it hit my spot. I started with a frozen quarter pounder on the gas grill, topped it with pepper jack, and served it on a toasted bun, covered with mustard on the bottom, then a big slice of purple sweet onion, next cam the burger, home grown tomato, pickles, then mayo.

Lately I've been baking some homemade Brioche buns to use for burgers and bbq, and they really make a huge difference over store bought. You burger lovers should give the homemade buns a try. For me a loaded burger is thick cut bacon, pepperjack, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, extra jalapenos and some mayo.

I put a slice of cheese on the meat after I turn it to finish the bottom... then i take a full slice of onion and put it on the grill then turn and do the same to it... top off with some sautéed mushrooms and BBQ sauce... red beans/pickles/onions fried okra with corn bread on the side

I'm a fan of big thick seasoned burgers. I want to be full when I'm done eating, thin burgers are depressing... I make my patties either 3/4 lb or 1 lb depending on mood. Grilled over hot mesquite coals until a little crispy on the outside, then topped with 2 layers of pepper jack cheese. I butter large buns or Texas Toast (add a little garlic powder) and toast on both sides on the grill or on a comal. Miracle Whip, extra mustard, add two layers of crispy thick sliced peppered bacon, then sliced tomato and bread & butter pickles with some Magic Dust sprinkled on top, press down slightly. Ain't nothing wrong with looking like a snake swallowing a big meal, it makes me happy. I like a pile of fresh onions and a fresh jalapeno or two on the side. Serve with chips and fresh salsa, sweet potato fries, or crispy thick cut seasoned fries with my special dipping sauce. HMN!!

Loaded = lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, mustard.

If there's more stuff that's fine but that would be a Specialty Burger.
If there's less stuff that's fine but that would be a not so special burger.

So it has been written, so it shall be.

A real hamburger has meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, bread & butter pickles and mayo on a POPPY SEED bun. All others are pretenders.

Yeah well, if you don't put some mustard
on the meat side bun then you're only fooling yourself.

Mustard is for hot dogs. Only Yankees and misguided Southerners would put mustard on a burger.

Other than the obvious wonderful taste of mustard on a hamburger
that several generations of Texans in my family have enjoyed being understood, it is commonly known that mayonnaise is nothing but a weak
salad dressing, in most cases requiring the addition of other
ingredients to give it any merit at all for even that purpose.

And yes, mustard also goes on hotdogs because again, it is a
delicious meat sauce.

1/2 lb burger, sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeno, sauteed mushrooms, bacon with mustard, every now and then add avocado slices. Sides are ranch style beans, potato chips and a cold, cold glass of milk up
