Not necessarily the shooting skills, but they do come in handy.  I've ALWAYS got a rifle at the ready. Weather I'm in the shop, or out on the land somewhere. Coyotes and hogs get no pass. Crows, too if they're dumb enough to land on the ground. I'm exactly this same way, only the opposite. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will not have a gun with me when that big buck, huge hog, pack of yotes, or terrorists invasion comes. Always have it ready to rock when nothing is around though. That used to be me. And when I purchased my land, Nov. 2013 I vowed to ALWAYS have a rifle by my side. Because of that, I've knocked down countless hogs and coyotes, since. I'm opportunistic, same as they are.
