Does anyone know of a tent blind that comes with a floor? I'm getting tired of the fire ants and scorpions not to mention the 3 rattlesnakes I've killed over the past 5 years. I've been searching the internet with no luck yet. I don't know why they don't put a floor in?? It must be for mobility or setting it up??

I don't hunt out of anything that doesn't have a floor. No way.

Build your own. Attach tent, could even elevate it.

I found one! It's an Ameristep Ground Blind Care Taker with Floor. $129 at Academy and has a 5 star review...99% because of the floor. Like I said, I have no idea why all pop up blinds don't come with a floor?? I set mine up in early September and usually take it back down in January. I guess there must be an issue with weight or setup or the way they pop up?? There were a couple of reviews that said it was difficult to take down, but hell, what isn't? Maybe I should start manufacturing floored pop ups and get rich ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif)

Yes, Ameristep. I believe they have several models with floors. I had one with a floor and did not use the floor because I'd rather chase a critter out before I walk in than be trapped inside with it.

I have used the tent blinds with the floor. They don't last long. Something cuts a hole in it and kinda defeats the purpose. I agree with papa45. It's easier to get the varmints out with no floor. Having a floor on something more durable than fabric makes sense. But in a blind made of fabric, I think it's more of a gimmick or waste of money.

I have one of each, and will say, entering the floorless one in the dark, I always check the corners before stepping inside.

Build a 3'-5' platform to put it on, or find some carpet and cut a square 6" bigger than your blind on all 4 sides. Fold carpet inside blind to where the excess is running up the walls and duct tape the crap out of it.
