So, I stocked some fish at the lease "tanks" about three years ago. I would say they are doing quite nicely. Fished with a buddy over the weekend. These are 1 acre to 2 acre tanks, caught fish like this in all of them and got broke off twice. Caught about 12-13 total.

Can they get that big in 3 years? How big were they when you stocked them?

Top one was almost 5 pounds, I have a multitude of Texas Bluegill, shell crackers and copper nose, mud minnows and shiners in each pond as well. They were stocked when I got on the lease 10 years ago, one of the bass had the tail of a brim sticking out of it's gut and every Spring I stock 20 lbs of minnows in each pond. The bass were then stocked three years ago.

The top fish I estimate close to 5 pounds if not a bit over, the second one was closer to 4 and the one my buddy had was 2.5 plus. The lease record was caught last year and was a bit over 7 lbs. When a lot of these bass were stocked (3 years ago) they were anywhere from .5 lbs to a 1 lb. They were transferred from a private pond that was drained and re-dug. About 50-75 for each of my ponds were stocked.

Excellent growth-sounds like you are feeding them well!

Good looking healthy bass up
Be sure to periodically keep some of those 1-2 pounders to prevent them from overpopulating the tanks and indulge on some fine dining grill

All fish were released as they had eggs.

Building some Fish Feeders this weekend to get the forage taken care of so my Bass can get HUGE!

Anyone got any ideas or want to show me what they have done?

Good looking fish..... Just remember that its always cheaper and easier to harvest bass than stock minnows; most ponds & lakes will be AWESOME for 3-4 years after stocking bass and then the bass over populate and quickly deplete the baitfish population.

1lbs bass weight = 10lbs of forage fish; so every 1lbs bass that you harvest is like adding 10lbs of minnows to your forage base - last time I checked minnows were $10-lbs, so you save $100 for every base under 15" you harvest vs. stocking bait fish. While every pond is different a general rule of thumb is to take 10lbs of the most common size bass your catching per surface acre out of the pond.

Depending on how often you go out to the lease, it may be more beneficial for you to lime and fertilize these ponds vs. setting up fish feeders.
