And some pigs with the savage 110 .270 win with whatever bullet I found in my cabinet.. usually 130gr Rem corelokt or win soft point... not sure... had that gun since I was 12 and blue is wearing off the barrel its been shot so many times

Customized Marlin X7 wearing a Leupold VX-R 4x12x40 in .270 Win shooting 130gr Hornady Interbond hand loads (CCI primer, 4831SC, Win brass). So far have taken 3 does, 2 Cull bucks, and 6 pigs. Couple more to go (MLD 3).

I got two bucks, 3 hogs, and 3 coyotes. A bit of a slow year. Used the Tikka 260 with 100 and 120 gr Nosler BTs. Scope is a Vortex PST 4-16. No Hathcock sniper shot needed, with the longest shot being only 240 yards to take down a decent sized moving boar.

I did all my killing this year with my RRA 6.8, Fed Fusion 115gr. It wasn't intended to be that way, it just kind of happened. Next year hope to get the .308 back in action. Here are the two I'm most proud of:

Most of the year, a Savage 10FP with Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x, 308 with Chad's 165gr Sierra Game King... 1 nice 10 point, several coyotes, bobcat, pigs... and a few hunts with THE Remington 750, "Shorty", 308 carbine...

And hunting today with a CVA 50 cal inline....

I like to hunt with old rifles, particularly milsurp or sporterized military rifles ...


Got this ancient Steyr-Mannlicher M95/34 very, very inexpensively at an auction and used it to kill two hogs this summer, with PRVI 8x56R ammo and the original iron sights.

I got this old Springfield 1903 in a sporter stock to go bear hunting. I shot this little axis buck, a hog and two WT does using 180 grain .30-06 Core-Lokts. Will probably look at bigger, more solid ammo for bear.

And of course there's my Remington 870 Wingmaster in 16 gauge, which I used on several dove hunts and my drawn hunt for quail at Big Bend Ranch State Park.

January '16: Mule deer doe with Weatherby Vanguard in 22-250, factory 55gr VMAX, Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50mm. ~40yd.
January '16: Pig with Weatherby Vanguard in 30-06, 150gr Fusion, Nikon Buckmasters 4-12x50mm. Longest kill to date, 273yd.
February '16: 2 WT with the 22-250; a followed up spike from ~50yd and a doe's brain from 108yd; same bullet as well.
May '16: Aoudad ram with Ted Williams Model 100 30-30 (Win 94 clone), factory Federal blue box 150gr. 2 shots, ~60yd & ~30yd.
May '16: BB doe follow up with Sig Sauer SP2022, 115gr Hornady "American Gunner" XTP. <5yd .
May '16: a few jackrabbits and raccoons with a Marlin Model 60...don't remember bullet. Most shots close, but one 80ish headshot on a rabbit.
September '16: 1 dove with Yildiz A71 in 12 gauge. IC choke and #6 Winchester steel shot I think.
September '16: 4 jackrabbits with the Model 60 (2 running shots) and 1 with the Sig (running shot too!). CCI hollow points and same Hornady XTP, respectively. (Dad killed his aoudad ewe with my 22-250 on this hunt)
November '16: Addax with Mathew's NoCam HTR set at 67lb @ 28", shooting Easton Axis 340 topped with Rage SC 2-blade. Longest bowkill, 32yd.
In summer I killed a red wasp from 8yd with my Walther Terrus in .177. I have no clue how I hit it but it severed the head clean off and my friend and I went crazy . Also killed a few Eurasian doves with this gun. RWS Superpoint Extra and Gamo Rocket pellets.
3 possums and a squirrel with RWS Model 48 in .22 using RWS Superpoint Extra pellets.
January '17: 1 snow goose with Yildiz A71 in 12 gauge. Winchester #2s or Remington BB can't remember, 3".

My wife says the same thing.

Took a doe at 68 yards with my S&W 460XVR with Federal 275gr.

Took a bobcat, coyote, and pig with a Browning BAR 30-06 with Hornady 175gr ELD-X.

Pistol did great. But that damn rifle required 2 shots on everything.

We started off in South Africa. I took a good friend on his first safari. He took 5 species--gemsbok, warthog, impala, blue Wildbeest, red heartbeest just took this old sable and a Zebra.






We went down to the free state and took Blesbok and Spring Bok.... Used my 375 ultra on everything. It's a Bill Wiseman custom..damn accurate!





Late summer and early fall was pretty calm. Chased a few birds around used my browning O/U 20 ga and my Beretta 391 12 ga and Winchester 101 12 ga





Always enjoy Whitetail season. Pulled the trigger on a nice buck this year outside of Del Rio... My Blaser R8 6.5-284 did most of the yeoman work this fall... He is a pic of her at work.



Finished up the season with a pretty nice little desert mule deer...it was a fun hunt... It was a pretty darn good 2016.
