Anyone use snake gaiters over your regular hunting boots?

I wear Chips all year unless it is very cold.

I got hit by a rattler a couple weeks ago outside Moran. Academy brand snake boots saved me. Calf high green grass, never rattled. My pistol was in the truck...never again.

I was looking at cutting a trail to a back corner of my place this weekend. Grass is out of control this year, and was walking in stuff up to my thighs, and this exact scenario was running through my mind. I did have my boots on, but still..........

I wear snake boots year-round because they're the boots I have broken in, and I do a lot of still hunting. I agree they're just as useful against cactus & thorns as fangs.

I've heard Chips are the way to go. I bought a pair of the Danner Jackal's on sale. They've worked great against cactus and the gore-tex has kept my feet dry on dewy morning.
I will say that the next pair I get once these are worn out will be side zip or slip on and sure as heck not lace up.
