I have a 5 year old FoxPro that I have not used probabaly 20 times since I bought it new. The remote (TX9) is not lighting up and showing which call is being played and it will not change pages so the only calls I can use is the page it is stuck on. I tried fresh\new battery still the same.
So I called FP and asked how much a new remote would be, answer $80-90 bucks! Obviously it is 5 years old and out of warranty so I asked about shipping it in for repair. Cost to fix would be $20-40 plus shipping would be on my dime. Have to ship the remote and caller together so expect shipping to be north of $10 each way.
So with all this said I think a better deal would be to just buy a new one. The caller unit is fine and works great the remote is my problem. So maybe somebody out there knows how to fix the remote or had the opposite problem and needs a good caller unit?
Pretty disappointed in FP's customer service at the moment! The replacement remote costs almost as much as I paid for the whole unit!!

I can't remember the name of it but it has the TX9 remote control. I checked it last night so I could call CS today. If I am right I think they still use the TX9 in some of their current models. This wasn't an expensive model and only had 35 sounds.
thanks

I'd just buy a better unit. Fo pro is hard to beat. Sounds like you got use out of it. You get what you pay for. If your into calling maybe it's time to upgrade

What did you expect foxpro to do?

I had problems with a fury2 5 years ago. Had it 3 months and it would just shut off in the middle of calling a stand. I sent it in and they replaced it. Ive ran a shockwave the last 3yrs and had zero issues. Best caller on the market. But you get what u pay for. They do have some cheaper models.

I don't know I guess I expected a replacement remote to be cheaper? I guess they hold all the cards and don't want to sell replacement remotes for cost because they know the likelihood is I will buy another unit instead of going with just a remote.

I checked the manual and tried a few things. I was able to change from text to numbers by holding both sound buttons at the same time. At least in this mode it changes thru all the sounds. I mostly use the rabbit sounds so this will work. I may see if I can get a good deal on a new one though. I guess I could spend $50 to have the remote fixed and sell it for $55? lol
Anyone interested in buying it? Once the remote is fixed it would be a great beginner unit!

Cabelas has a heck of a deal on the FoxPro Hellfire right now at 149.00 usually 300.00
