I carry a 1911 in 38 Super anytime I am hunting. My son carries a G19. The biggest issue is carrying the extra weight around on your belt all day, especially if you are stalking and walking several miles. We solved that issue to a large extent by purchasing thigh holsters. They put the weight lower and also are easier on the pistol when you decide to sit down on a rock pile. I have also used a chest holster but I don't like it as well. I'm not so much concerned about being attacked by whatever I'm hunting as I am about the people who frequent the woods nowadays. You never know who are are going to run into out there. I'm a serious fan of the .38 Super. Most folks don't even know what it is nor have ever heard of it. One look at the ballistics and I was sold. They say .... "38 WHAAAAT?"
. There's a fine line between BRAVE ... and STUPID.
The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.
