Central Texas Silhueta Association in New Braunfels has a 500 yard F-Class match the first Saturday of each month.
Check the Texas State Rifle Association for its F-Class matches. I'd like to try that.

S and B or the Tangent Theta
In the NF for glass clarity you need to get in the atacr line , it is more noticeable than the nxs
I know you said no vortex but they have a new high end scope that is supposed to be really really good and all American
There are a couple kahles scopes.
But for the money I would go atacr or look at new vortex. $2-3500 not $3000 plus Tangent theta over a S&B What exactly do you like better about the TT over the S&B? I'm looking into some upper end optics for a rifle and curious what you don't like about the benders?

Lots of fun and great practice. 1 MOA 10 ring and 1/2 MOA x-ring for all distances. Marksmanship and wind reading matters more than the ability to shoot small groups. Can be harder than it would appear. As you know, wind and keeping the driver nut adjusted are the whole battle. That's tough. I could keep it in 1 MOA for most shots (don't know percentage) 1/2 MOA at 500 is tiny, no matter how you slice it. My CBS yesterday evening was 1 MOA at 500 (smallest I have) I hit it but near the edge. Second shot was center/center, moved to 600, center, then 700 center. But I did that before the wind had time to switch, thats the trick. Throw in overcast, and little to no mirage, and it would be tough.
Gotta have great loads, and be a wind reading wizard to hang in that arena. A Mil scope could do it, with a guy very familiar with Mil, but I can see how MOA would help, mainly with getting perfect elevation. A Mil giy could find himself .05 Mil out, down .1 would be too much, and up .1 would be too much. F-class uses wind flags?

Takes a perfect score or maybe 1 point dropped to win the local match.
State matches will have perfect scores.
Some ranges have flags, but nothing like a benchrest match.
The local match is just watching the grass move.
The hardest part is staying focused for shot after shot.
Midway sells the regulation targets.
Order a box and give it a try at your range.
It really will improve your wind reading and mental focus.

Hardest and crappiest part is pulling targets for another relay.....all part of the experience. I'm going to try and shoot two per month just to become a better shooter.
wind is the key, you shoot an X, then another, then an 8 using the same hold point as the X's. you start chasing the spotter all over the target. its fun.....
another hard part is finding matches on Saturdays for travel reasons. Come on retirement....

keep me posted DStroud, do you have a calendar of F-Class Matches? only one I know of is the Bayou Rifles Club, South of Houston. I used mine in a local match in Crawford Tx that is steel match at 1000 that is .308 caliber only. My only F Class I drove to Capitan,New Mexico to shoot.

Hey guys! Great discussion going here and some solid advice! I’ve set myself a budget of $300 for my first rifle scope and am still not sure which one to get. I’ve been reading some reviews on this site ( https://tangotactics.com/) and am considering the Leupold 114933 VX-HOG Rifle Scope or the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn. Does anyone here actually own either of these? What are your experiences?
