Well with season 3 weeks away we might as well kick this off right now. Unofficial Texas Hunting Forum Duck Hunting Get Together or UTHFDHGT.

The dates are undecided but will be after the split so as to get cooler temps and plenty of redheads to shoot at.

The base will be Pirates Cove Condos on 15th street on the water near the fishing center.

Like last time we will assemble on Friday and get settled in. In the evening after copias amounts of man drink we can walk 50 yards to Hurricane Junction for supper and more man drink.

In the morning we can go shoot birds.

Saturday night Gumbo at my place #14 Pirates Cove. More man drink.

This is not a man trip. Ladies are welcome, this is a hunting fun get together not a stag party. Children are welcome, I was allowed to tag along with my dad and go all over the world, they are very welcome along.

I already know my boat is full with Speer and Elliot and Hog. Unless Hog wants to bring his boat too so as to accommodate others without a boat. We shall see.

Last year the weather and some other things not worth mentioning dwindled the group a bit. Those that attended made it a memorable trip. Some were old friends already, others we met for the first time. We laughed, had a good time and made new friends. We shot good birds. They certainly seemed to like the way it all went down. No reason we can't do it all over again.

I paid a helluva lot of money for a deer lease, like to utilize it, but want to shoot some ducks. I have no problem calling the condo place, as soon as you have some dates.

Probably early January. The rates are 175 for a 2 bedroom and 200 for a 3 bedroom. 6 guys in a 3 bedroom,can get your cost to 33 a night. That's not a bad deal at all. Keep checking here. I see hogman is here now So I am sure there will be a lot of chatter from here on out.

The good kak fishing starts at 1/4 miles from the condos. Last October I had a group down there fishing and we never left the shoreline I was talking about. We put a pretty good whoopin on trouts right out the gate. There was not a lot of reds there at that spot but there are plenty others. We were wading and that whole shoreline is hard a cement sand.

I'm in pending official date. Just bought me a boat and will likely have room for a few. Dog will probably still be out with medical issues this year.

We are kicking around making this in December rather than January. The opener of the split would be good, December 10, 11. I have three trips scheduled in January, Kansas, Iowa and Iowa guys coming here for a trade out hunt. I am probably already canceling the Iowa trip for time constraints. Any huge gripes on 12/10/2016 to kick this off?

I'm committed to take a close friend to the lease Dec. 5-8, so I'd probably have to bow out. 'Can't be gone that much all at once, but beggars can't be choosers. Hope y'all knock 'em down.

I for sure won't be able to do Dec 10th-11th. I'll be running very very very far that weekend at a state park. But hell I said I was a long shot to be able to go anyway. Would still like to catch up with some of you guys.
